As I’ve said before, I started this blog as a journalism school assignment.
That’s when the name, Herbs & Spices, was created – hastily, of course. At that point in my life, I was jaded and of the opinion that I sucked at making up names. I came up with the idea of the stoner food blog and ran with a pun without really thinking.
When I re-started the blog almost exactly a year ago, I was so unsure of myself I barely knew where to begin, let alone what my “personal brand” was supposed to be. I kept the name and threw together a slightly better look and feel that still wasn’t really me.
Clearly, looking back, I gave myself zero credibility or authority to make my own creative decisions. And, if you ask me, it shows.
Over this next week, those who read and care about this blog will see it start to become WAY better and more authentic. It took me a while to meditate on how I could use this platform to be of the most use to people.
My focus will still be on health – but I will also talk about other life areas. Mostly just trying new things and getting a hang of living positively in spite of the negative.
Starting Monday I will have 2 new email lists you can sign up to be on, where I hope I can share with you some of the best news links.
I’ve been immersed in the online news industry for about four years now and let me tell you – I find juicy links.
I’ve learned the hard way that it makes you well to be true to yourself, and make your work a reflection of what makes you happy. I want to start over and bring my point of view and artistic vision back around to everything I do.
When I am back with a new post on Monday, I plan on getting real and being an open book for my readers and providing information that is (hopefully) valuable and inspiring.
I know everyone hates reading about people’s “blogging journeys,” but for those of us for whom it really counts, it helps to write about it 😛
Thanks for being around and PLEASE continue following, looking out for my post on Monday if you would like to subscribe to emails.
Love

Yay! Glad for your new focus. I follow the medical literature fairly closely (I’m a toxicologist, among other things), let me know if you have questions about studies and the biology of the endocannabinoid system. Look fwd to reading more of your “new” posts.
