Guys, sometimes life throws curveballs. And when that happens, you kind of need to drop everything and try to knock them out of the park before you totally strike out.

That’s what I’ve been trying to do here, so if you’re actually a regular reader, please bear with me as I try to make time for more cool fitness and food stories to share with you!

You know how they say, “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life“? Well it’s true! I’m proud to say I’ve finally achieved a major life goal, and about 2 weeks ago started a brand new career in the legal cannabis & hemp industry – ancillary services, of course.

It’s hard work that takes a thick skin and entrepreneurial mindset day in and day out. But nevertheless it’s been a time of exciting transition (and financial upheaval) that comes with following my dream.

The funny thing is that I have been working toward this goal, and manifesting it in my mind for some time now. For years I volunteered, networked, and attempted to be a part of the cannabis industry in any way I possibly could, back when I was still extremely busy with college, and later, trying to succeed at workplaces that I was never going to be a “good fit” for. I set my sights on connecting with the top “celebrities” and SoCal locals doing great work in cannabis, and doing it honestly. And then a few weeks ago, I got lucky and got the phone call of a lifetime. Too lucky. That’s how I know it’s not really luck after all, but my own destiny I’ve been reinforcing.

So that’s why I’ve been away from the blog for a few weeks. And – it’s bittersweet – but I will no longer be running the AFC Half Marathon this summer due to a business trip that sprang up. An amazing opportunity to have fun and network with the best in the industry, but I am pretty bummed to miss my race. All that training wasn’t for nothing, though; I’m still putting in miles for my ultimate goal of 300 this year, and on the lookout for a replacement race! All suggestions welcome but would prefer to stay in San Diego!

Beyond that, I do have a special announcement. My first product giveaway went swimmingly (meaning more than 1 person entered – woo!) and we do have a WINNER!
